The Emergency Medicine Institute (EMI) was founded in the year 2002 and is now in its
seventh year of successful operation specializing in the education and training of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. EMI provides Saudi nationals with a paramedic education program that will ready the candidate to effectively function in the pre-hospital environment. EMI’s program is the only one in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recognized by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties. The foundation of EMI’s paramedic program is based upon the newly accepted United States National Standard Curriculum for Paramedics. EMI has extensive experience in EMS and has a strong network of Paramedics and Emergency Medicine Physicians all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On 26th of February 2005, the Emergency Medicine Institute in conjunction with the Saudi Red Crescent Society and National Guard Hospital began operating the first ALS Paramedic Ambulance in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The unit is staffed by experienced Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medicine Physicians from Saudi Arabia, United States and South Africa.
