Advance Life Support (ALS) Unit Training
Physicians in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program run on the ALS unit with the Paramedics and Students. Students will be precepted by experienced Paramedics from Saudi Arabia, United States and South Africa.
The Emergency Medicine Institute has assembled the finest available staff for the training of our students. The program offers a certificate level award in conjunction with the Harrisburg Community College Shumaker Public Safety Center. Students can challenge the Pennsylvania Department of Health and National Registry Exams. Some Universities offer credits toward the completion of a BS degree to to those who pass the National Registry Examination.
We are currently working on developing a relationship with a number of international schools for continuing education opportunities for our students.
The institute offers some satellite EMS related programs to a number of companies in the Kingdom. We have developed an Arabic training textbook for First Aid – CPR and First Responder. Currently, we provide training to ALMARAI and SAMBA in both English and Arabic. Another project we have completed is an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course for Saudi Red Crescent Society. The program is available in both English and Arabic with textbook and practical training manual written by the staff here at the institute. An EMT training text (Arabic) is currently under development.
